    Merle E. "Sonny" Foust, 61, Indian Lake, died Oct. 18, 1997, at his
  residence. Born Feb. 11, 1936, in Berlin, son of Dorothy (Brant) Foust,
  married to Roy Thomas of Berlin, and the late Dalton Foust.  Also survived
  by his wife of 39 years, the former Donna Thompson, and these children:
  William, married to the former Louise Shippey of Jennerstown; Steven,
  married to the former Sherri Hutzell of Garrett, and Gayle Gooden of
  Meyersdale: grandchildren: Kelly, Kristen, Michael, Jason Foust and Cody
  Gooden; step-grandchildren: Danny and Terry Reed; also a sister, Betty,
  married to Jerry Koontz of Wichita, Kan.  Retired from Somerset Welding &
  Steel.  A member of Indian Lake Christian Center and Jenner Rod and Gun
  Club.  Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the
  Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Tuesday.  Pastor Tim Burgan officiating.  Internment (sic), Berlin IOOF
  Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to Indian Lake Christian
  Center, Central City, Pa., 15926.
