  Merle H. Foust, 84, of Friedens, formerly of Somerset, passed on Jan. 9,
  2002 at home.  Born Dec. 14, 1917 in Somerset.  Son of the late Homer and
  Edna (Gindlesperger) Foust.  Preceded in death by parents, wife Pearl
  (Sarver) Foust in 1991, and two infant brothers.  Survived by sons James,
  married to Amelia Foust of West Orange, N.J. and Homer "Mike" married to
  Mary Ann Foust of Millersville, Ga., daughter Edna Jane, married to Neil
  Dinn of Manasquan, N.J., four grandchildren, and three
  great-grandchildren.  He was a retired operator/engineer for Latrobe
  Construction.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II
  and Korea.  He was a member of the National Rifle Association.  Friends
  will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home,
  Somerset where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Daniel
  Nicksich officiating. Interment St. John's Cemetery, Somerset.  There will
  be no viewing at Mr. Foust's request.
