Fox, 79, 24C Fulton Dr., New Oxford, died April 7, 2000, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. Born May 5, 1920 in Lantz, Frederick County, Md., son of the late Wilbur M. and Myrtle M. (Brown) Fox. Predeceased by 3 brothers. Survived by his wife Alice B. (Ogline) Fox; 5 brothers: Paul M. Fox, and Richard M. Fox, both of Sabillasville, Md., W. Chester Fox, Timoniuim, Md., Robert R. Fox, Blue Ridge Summit; and George P. Fox, St. Petersburg, Fla. Member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover, life member of the Historical Society of the Evangelical and Reformed Church; Gettysburg. Association of the United Church of Christ; Peru Central Conference of the United Church of Christ; Mercersburg Society - life member; American Library Association - life member; Pennsylvania Library Association - life member; Junior Order of United American Mechanics' and Adams County Historical Society. He was a member of the Grange, an active "granger since joining Thurmont Grange, Thurmont, Md., in 1951. Now a member of Gideon Grange, Hanover, Pa. He was also a member of York-Adams County Pomona Grange; a life member of the Pennsylvania State Grange; and a member of the National Grange. He was an honorary member of the Waynesboro Historical Society, and Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset. He graduated from Thurmont High School, Thurmont, Md., in 1937 and after graduation did farm work and assisted his uncle in his coal, wood and feed business for four years. From 1941-1951 he was a sheet metal worker at Fairchild Aircraft Corporation and Emmert Mfg. Co. He received his A.A. degree from Towson State University and his B.A. from Western Maryland College. He also received degrees from Lancaster Theological Seminary of the United Church of Christ, M. Div.; Western Michigan University, School of Librarianship, M.S.L.; Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg, Pa., S.T.M. He was ordained at St. John's United Church of Christ, Sabillasville, Md., June 22, 1958. He served 5 1/2 years in the parish ministry; was librarian from 1966 until retirement in 1981 at Buffalo Erie County Library, Buffalo, N.Y.; Heidelberg College Library, Tiffin, Ohio; The Pennsylvania State University Library, DuBois Campus, DuBois, Pa. Author of "Pathways of Prayer," 1982 and "An Annotated Bibliography of the Works of Rev. Henry Harbaugh, D.D." The viewing will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Grace United Church of Christ, 100 Fourth St., Hanover, with his pastor Rev. Bruce P. Bouchard, officiating. A graveside burial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Look Rd., Lancaster.
