Foy, formerly of Meyersdale, but now residing in Newark, N.J., died in a Newark hospital Saturday, May 29, to which place she had been rushed a few days earlier in an effort to save her life. A Caesarian operation was performed to bring into the world a son who has survived the ordeal which cost his mother's life. Mrs. Foy was born 25 years ago in Atlantic City, where her father, J. J. Flannigan still resides. Her mother preceded her in death, but two sisters survive. She was possessed of a charming personality and a lovely character. During her school days she specialized in a secretarial course and upon graduation followed that vocation until her marriage to Mr. Foy on July 20, 1930. Since that time they resided in Newark, where Mr. Foy is employed. The deceased lady was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Newark. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Flannigan home in Atlantic City. Mrs. Mary Foy and her brother, John Henicksman, left Meyersdale, Sunday, for Atlantic City, to attend the funeral of her daughter-in-law, whom she loved dearly. They have not yet returned from their sad errand. Meyersdale Republican, June 2, 1932
