Foy, for many years a resident of Meyersdale, died in Newark, N.J., last Saturday, at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 21 days. His death was due to paralysis. He suffered a stroke last Thursday evening and remained unconscious until the end came Saturday morning. Mr. Foy was born at Jennings, Md., Feb. 15, 1867. He was a son of the late Michael Foy. Forty years ago he married Miss Mary Kump, a native of Austria, and a very capable and estimable woman. The couple located in Meyersdale where they spent nearly all of their married life and reared an excellent family. Mr. Foy was an industrious man and worked in the mines until about three years ago when he was severely injured by a fall of rock, and had not been able to do much work since. Mr. and Mrs. Foy moved to Newark, N.J., over a year ago owing to the death of the wife of their oldest son, George L. Foy, a member of the Newark postoffice staff and successful artist, the move being made so Mrs. Foy could keep house for her son and take care of his infant son. Mr. Foy spent about three months here this summer with his daughter, Mrs. A. J. Rumgay, and family, and returned to Newark only eight days before he was stricken. His body was brought here, Monday, for burial, the funeral services taking place in SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Tuesday morning, attended by all of the bereaved family and many friends. Requiem mass by Very Rev. Father Brady was followed by interment in the Catholic cemetery. Mr. Foy was a good citizen, a kind husband and father and a faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, and the following named children: Maud, Mrs. A. J. Rumgay, Meyersdale; George L. Foy, Newark, N.J.; Regina, Mrs. Parker T. Hampton, Philadelphia; Stella, Mrs. John Hayes, Akron, Ohio; John, Charles and Cecilia Foy, Newark, N.J. Meyersdale Republican, September 11, 1930
