  FRANCIS
  
    Charles I. Francis, 79, of Somerset, died May 5, 1997, in Burton City,
  Ohio, at the home of his daughter, Clara Ray.  He was born Jan. 8, 1918, in
  Rockwood, son of the late Frederick and Grace (Bowers) Francis.  Preceded in
  death by his wife, the former Mary Pritts; sisters:  Sally Logan, Betty
  Davis and Althea Stubblefield; and brothers:  Elmer Francis and Vohn
  Francis.  Survived by a son, Charles I. Francis Jr., married to the former
  Linda Kaufman; daughter, Mrs. William (Clara) Ray of Burton City, Ohio;
  grandchildren, Gerald Ray and Erin Francis, and great-grandson, Keith
  Ray.  Brother of Harold Francis, Robert Francis, Jean Means, Violet Resh
  and Amber Davis.  Veteran of U.S. Army, World War II.  Member of the VFW
  and Disabled American War Veterans.  He was a retired employee of Somerset
  Borough.  Funeral service was held Wednesday at the Wilbur D. Miller
  Funeral Home, Somerset.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
