Born Nov. 6, 1922, in Somerset, daughter of James Anthony and Marian Sipe (Gasteiger) Casey. Preceded in death by parents, and nephew, John M. Casey. Sister of James A. Casey Jr., married to the former Sarah McCance of (Bellevue) Pittsburgh; nephew, James A. Casey III of Webster Springs, W.Va.; and four great-nephews, James A Casey IV, John, Jacob and Joseph Casey. A 1940 graduate of Somerset High School. Received her bachelor of science, master's of science and doctorate degrees from Pennsylvania State University. Retired professor of home economics at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, N.C. World War II Veteran of U.S. Navy Waves and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Somerset, American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, American Home Economics Association and North Carolina Home Economics Association. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Glenn E. Sadler officiating.
