Fratz, 80, of Accident RD 1, Md., died Sept. 25, 1979, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was the owner and operator of W. H. Fratz, Inc. He was a native of this community, and he was a son of the late Conrad Fratz and Mrs. Elizabeth (Leinsetter) Fratz. He was twice married. His first wife, Mrs. Anna V. (Bittinger) Fratz, preceded him in death. Mr. Fratz was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Garrett County Farm Bureau, and was a former substitute mail carrier. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena (Adams) Bittinger Fratz, of Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland, Md.; five sons, Donald Fratz, Wayne Fratz, all of Accident, Md., and Robert Fratz, of McHenry, Md. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Charles Wilt, Cumberland, Md., Mrs. Delbert Leese, Cresaptown, Md., Mrs. Hazel Wright, Glen Arm, Md.; Mrs. Cecil Edwards, McHenry, Md.; two step-sons, Dale Bittinger, of Tennessee; Junior Bittinger, of Chicago, Ill.; two step-daughters; a sister, Miss Althea Fratz, Akron, Ohio; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. The Rev. Frederick Illick conducted the service, and interment will be in the church cemetery. The Republic, October 4, 1979 [F0792]
