Friedhofer Jr., 70, of Somerset died Aug. 16, 1996 at his residence. Born Sept. 27, 1925 in McKeesport. Son of the late Carl Michael and Mary Viola (Wadding) Friedhofer Sr. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Jeanne Mae Mostoller, who died in 1987. He is survived by: daughters, Mrs. John (Jan Elizabeth) Kohl of Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. Thomas (Ann Louise) Stolberg, Boston, Mass.; and two grandsons, Reiss Andrew and Corbett W. Kohl. Brother of Ralph W. Friedhofer, married to the former Sally Roy of Somerset. Also nephew, Michael Roy Friedhofer, Somerset; special friend, Jean Steinkirchner, Jennerstown, and close friends Harry and Mary Baker, Somerset. A 1943 graduate of Somerset High School and a 1949 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II serving in the Central European Theatre and Battle of the Bulge. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was vice president of Church Council from 1960-1969. Past president and 43 year member of Somerset Lions Club, charter member of Somerset Jaycees, 50-year member of American Legion Post #181, and VFW Post #554. He was co-owner of Somerset Candy Company retiring in 1990. No viewing or visitation. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be sent to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 651 S.
