She was the wife of Gillian J. Friedline and the widow of Emil Grube. Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Margaret Boyle Dougherty and had lived most of her life in Downingtown before moving to Willow Street in 1988. Employed by Nachman's Corp. for 5 years, both in West Chester. Member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Downingtown since 1934 and had served on its church council. Leader of the Lutheran Church Women for numerous years. Also an active volunteer at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester for 5 1/2 years. Surviving in addition to her husband are 3 daughters: Charlotte A. Templin, Santa Anna, Calif.; A. Marie Carpenter and Margaret J. Rambo, both of Downingtown; 2 sons: George E. Friedline of New Martinsville, W.Va., and Robert L. Friedline of Alexandria, Va.; brother, Vincent Dougherty of Cape May, N.J; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Messiah Lutheran Church, 46 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment, St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Lionville. Contributions in her memory may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 46 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, Pa. 19336.
