She was the beloved wife of the late George Jonathan Friedline, LTC USAF (Ret.) and mother of Jonathan Friedline of Oak Hill, Pa. and Scott Friedline of Scottsdale, Ariz. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Clutton Colvin of Medford, J.J. and six grandchildren: Jonathan Buy Friedline, Christopher Scott Friedline, Scott M. Friedline J., Maggie Ann Friedline and Marcin Bakalarz. Mrs. Friedline's father, Paul D. Clutton, was a former resident of Slippery Rock. He was former Superintendent of Schools in Meyersdale, and served in the House of Representatives in Pennsylvania in 1923-24. Her mother, Mary Magee Clutton, was a direct descendent of Stephen and Nathaniel Cooper, original settlers of Slippery Rock, and she was owner of the Magee farm on Water Street that was later owned by Emma Guffy Miller, a State Senator. Mrs. Friedline married George Friedline of Jennerstown, in 1941. Her husband was a Command Pilot in the US Air Force. They were married 59 years. She was active in church work and taught piano privately. She and her sister, Mary Clutton Colvin, made 100 acres of the original Magee farm available to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in 1980. It is known now as the Wolf Creek Narrows. At the time of her death, she was owner of Cliff Haven Cottage, adjacent to the Woodlands. Memorial services will be held at 9:00 a.m., at Grace Episcopal Church, 3601 Russell Rd., Alexandria, Va. on Tuesday, July 1, 2003. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 3601 Russell Rd., Alexandria, VA 22305.
