All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ JESSIE FRIEDLINE Ended His Domestic Trouble with Poison Jessie Friedline of Rockwood Drank Fatal Potion - Survived by Wife and Children Jesse Friedline, of Rockwood ended his life at 1:30 Saturday morning, Sept. 5, at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pugh, of West Patriot Street, Somerset, by drinking poison. His rash act is supposed to have been due to domestic trouble. Friedline was aged 28 years, 8 months and 4 days. He was employed on the B. & O. Railroad since 1923. He was an extraordinary worker and was liked by all that knew him. Friedline took the fatal dose about 12:30 a.m., but said nothing for some time. When he revealed the fact to others in the house they sent for medical assistance and two doctors came, but they were unable to save him. He is survived by his wife, Viola (Schafer) Friedline, two children, Mada Pearl and Mary Catherine; his mother, Mrs. Henry Bockes, of Meyersdale, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Richard Pugh, of Somerset; Mrs. Charles Burkett of Rockwood; Mrs. Ray Smith, of Meyersdale; George Friedline, of Meyersdale; Frank Friedline, of Rockwood. Funeral services were conducted in the New Centerville Lutheran Church on Monday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m., with interment subsequently in the New Centerville cemetery. Rev. C. G. White of Rockwood, officiated. The body was prepared for burial by Undertaker E. S. Landis of Somerset. Meyersdale Republican, September 24, 1931
