Friedline Sr., 74, of Shanksville, died Jan. 20, 1993 at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1918, in Sipesville. son of Charles and Hazle (Barnett) Friedline. Preceded in death by parents; his first wife, the former Phyllis Weaver: second wife, the former Kathryn "Kit" Foy; brother, Eugene, and sister, Louise Barndt. Survived by these children: Robert K. Jr., married to the former Kimberly Sterner of Shanksville, and Kim, at home; also granddaughter, Kelsea; grandson, Michael, and his mother, Sue Friedline, and step-granddaughters, Kristin and Jessica Gregg. He was retired from H.K. Porter Co. He was a former mayor of Shanksville. Former assistant scoutmaster of Troop 146, Stoystown, and former scoutmaster of Troop 151, Shanksville. Presently serving as commissioner of Quemahoning District, Boy Scouts of America, and president of Silver & Gold Senior Citizens, Shanksville. Member of Unity United Church of Christ, where he served as a Sunday School teacher. For over 25 years, Bob brought joy to many families with his portrayal of Santa Claus. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Bill Foy officiating.
