  ELMER C. FRIEND
  
  Elmer C. Friend, 72, died March 15, 1979 at his home in Accident, Md.
  
  Born at McHenry, Md., Mr. Friend was a son of the late George W. and Lily
  M. (Knox) Friend.  His first wife, Marguerite (Beall) Friend, preceded him
  in death.
  
  Mr. Friend was a retired farmer, and a member of the Glendale Assembly of
  God Church.
  
  Surviving are his widow, Ariel House Georg Friend; two daughters, Mrs.
  Dorothy Niner and Mrs. Betty Filsinger, both of Oakland, Md.; one son,
  Harold Friend, Swanton, Md.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Garna Enlow,
  Friendsvile, Md.; Leona Alson, Hyattsville, Md.; and Mrs. Florence Schell,
  Oakland, Md.; four stepsons, the Rev. Wesley Georg, Mt. Storm, Md., Vernon
  and Ronald Georg, both of Accident, and Darrius Georg, Silver Spring, Md.;
  two sisters, Mrs. Eva Bowser, Loch Lynn, and Mrs. Cecilia Brant, Swanton;
  one brother, Wesley Friend, Swanton; 14 grandchildren and three
  great-grandchildren.
  
  Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where services
  were conducted by the Rev. Gail Hixon and the Rev. Wesley Georg. 
  Interment, Glendale Cemetery.
