Born July 27, 1895, in Jenner Township, daughter of Michael A. and Alice (Muller) Zimmerman. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Jay Franklin, on June 11, 1941; infant daughter, Alice Virginia, on March 14, 1925; son, Harry Alvin, on Aug. 25, 1942; granddaughter, Stephanie Sue, one brother and six sisters. Survived by fie sons: Jay William, married to Mary L. Chapman, Jenner Crossroads; Norman Wayne, married to Naomi R. Meredith, Stoystown RD1; W. Earl, married to Maxine Hopkins, Sipesville; Richard B., married to Joan F. Barclay, Coal Junction, and Waldo F., married Gloria A. Sanner, Jenner Crossroads; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former Mt. Tabor U.C.C.; Mr. Laurel U.C.C. near Gray, 7th degree life-member of Jenner Grange 1661. Also member of Seventh Society of Farm Women, Forbes Road Chapter. DAR; Boswell Area Historical Society and life-member of the Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset County. She was a public school teacher for the former Jenner Township School District, former Jenner Township tax collector and owner-operator of the Fritz family farm, Coal Junction. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Laurel U.C.C., with the Rev. Joseph M. Beer officiating. Interment, Zion-Hoffman Garden of Memories. Memorials to Mt. Laurel U.C.C.
