Born October 12, 1912, in Sipesville, she was a daughter of Dorsey Earl Schmucker and Martha Blanche (Alexander). She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Edgar William Fritz, who died March 9, 1970; brother, Gene Schmucker; sister, Lucille Shaver. She is survived by daughter, Mrs. J. Michael (Peggy) Pentz of Elverson; grandsons: Christopher R. Pentz, wife Amy of Suffield, Conn.; Kevin E. Pentz, Richmond, KY; and great-grandsons: Gregory and Jackson Pentz. She was a sister of: Mrs. Melba June Griffith of Fern Park, Fla.; Mrs. Mary Catherine Shaulis of Sipesville; and sister-in-law Harriet Schmucker of Sipesville. She was a member of Somerset Church of the Brethren, 1929 graduate of Somerset High School, and a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College, 1st grade teacher in Somerset, Shanksville and Meyersdale schools, retiring in 1978 with 25 years of service; member OES Chapter #138 and Past Mother advisor of Rainbow Girls. She was a volunteer for Somerset Hospital and Somerset Chamber of Commerce; also member of Somerset Hospital Auxiliary. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 16, at the funeral home with the Reverends Roger Forry and Mark Bendes officiating. OES Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. If desired, contributions may be made to Somerset Hospital, 225 South Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
