ÒSamÓ ÒFriendÓ 10/04/05 Daily American Howard C. "Sam" "Friend" Frombaugh, 82, Ferndale, died Oct. 2, 2005, at his residence. Born Sept. 4, 1923, in Johnstown, son of the late Jacob and Margaret (Karshin) Frombaugh. Also preceded in death by twin brother, Harold C. and brother Alfred. Survived by loving wife of 41 years, the former Kathleen Walker; stepdaughter, Karen Yanosky, married to James, Hooversville; step grandchildren: Lisa Hendren, married to Brett, Missouri, Mark Yanosky, Johnstown, Lynda Ohler, Windber, James Jr., Steven, John J. and Dawn Yanosky, all of Hooversville; 11 step great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Rosemary Koch, Virginia, two nieces and two nephews. Howard is a World War II Army veteran and a life member of VFW Menoher Post 155, a retired crane operator for US Steel Company and a member of Moxham Lutheran Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Picking - Treece - Bennett Mortuary Inc., West Hills, 921 Menoher Blvd., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Robert R. Wagner officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery where military rites will be held courtesy of VFW Menoher Post 155.
