Frost died on Feb. 25, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital in Washington, D.C. Mr. Frost was born on March 24, 1917 in Youngstown, Ohio to Harlan James Frost and Margaret (Mae) Getty Frost. The family moved to Brookville, in 1931. Mr. Frost served in the United States Marine Corps for more than 27 years, and retired from military service in 1970 with the rank of sergeant. During his military career, he served in World War II, the Korean War, and the War of Vietnam. Mr. Frost also spent several years as an evangelist, preaching in churches in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he lived in the areas of Somerset and Bedford, where he ministered to youth in various Christian Missionary Alliance churches in Somerset County and much of western Pennsylvania. He was an avid sports fan and was involved with the teams at Rockwood, Somerset, and Shanksville schools. Mr. Frost touched the lives of many youth and adults for Jesus Christ for over 50 years. Since 1999, he resided at the U.S. Soldiers and Airmen Retirement Home in Washington, D.C. He is survived by his sons Robert and Ronnie, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother Raymond, nieces, nephews, and many friends whom he regarded as family. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Jim (who died in Boston Mass. in 2000), his brother Ed (who died in 1928 at the age of 13), his brother Bill (who was killed in battle in 1943 on Luzon, Philippine Islands), and by his sister Ruth (who died in 1978). His marriage to Edith Hess ended in divorce. A memorial service in celebration of Mr. Frost's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8, at the Christian Missionary & Alliance Church in Somerset. Pastors sharing in the memorial service include the Rev. James Vandervort of the Somerset Alliance Church, the Rev. Malvin Dolby, a retired Alliance pastor, and the Rev. Patrick Walsh of the Rockwood Alliance Church. Mr. Frost will be buried in Bethel Cemetery in Brookville.
