Gaither, of Southampton township, was drowned in Wills Creek. It appears that the child was playing around the mill where his father was at work, when, through some means unknown, he fell into the water and was drowned. Mr. Gaither was busy helping his men to fix some machinery, when not having time to attend to the boy, he told him to go up to the house. After some little time Mr. G. returned to the house and found the boy was not there. Search was immediately instituted, and his body was found in the creek just below the mill. Hampton was an unusually bright child of about twelve years of age. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their terrible affliction.
