Despondent Windber Man Hangs Himself Joseph Gajdas, Sr., aged 59, committed suicide last Thursday afternoon by hanging himself with a clothes line in a tool house located in the rear of his son's home in Windber. The body was found by the man's grandson, John Gajdas, 15, who had gone to the tool shed to summon his grandfather to supper. Gajdas had been employed as a janitor in a church, but had been unable to work for a short while because of illness. It is believed that his illness and a fear that he might lose his position prompted the suicide. He was a native of Hungary and is survived by one son, Joseph Gajdas, Jr., with whom he made his home.
