Gardner, 76, Arandale Street, Bedford, died Feb. 22, 2007. She was born Jan. 31, 1931, in Central City, a daughter of the late Daniel and Erna (Paulson) Kahn. On March 19,1949, in Cumberland, Md., she married the late Frederick A. Gardner who preceded her in death on July 9, 2000. She is survived by a son, Kenneth, married to the former Melissa Miles, Indianapolis; a daughter, Julie, wife of Randall Weyandt, Oak Harbor, Ohio; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gardner was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett. She was a Eucharistic minister for the nursing homes and served on the finance council at the church. She was a member of the Bedford American Legion Auxiliary, Bedford County Photo Club and the Lincoln Highway Association. Clara was the owner of Nanny's Kids Store in Bedford, and was well known at the authority of the Ship Hotel, built by her grandfather Herbert Paulson. She graduated from Mount Aloysius and was an alumni. She was known as a tireless servant to her friends and family, and was a very loving mother and grandmother. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett.
