  GARDNER
  
  Ernest Gardner, 44, of RD 2, Boswell, died Sept. 4 in the Leech Farm
  Veteran's Hospital, Pittsburgh.  He was born June 23, 1929 in Somerset
  County, son of Lester and Gertrude Beck Gardner of Sipesville.  Also
  survived by his wife, the former Jane L. Brant and two children; Jan Marie
  and Ernest Jr., both at home.  He was a brother of Ray of RD 3 Somerset,
  Earl of RD 6, Somerset, Mrs. Frank (Ethel) Stern of RD 2, Hollsopple and
  one daughter preceded in death.  A veteran of the Korean War. Friends will
  be received after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home
  where services will be conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Chauncey
  Ickes and interment in Bakersville Cemetery.
