Born Sept. 10, 1923, in Somerset, she is the daughter of the late Martin and Ida Mae (Felton) Barron. Also preceded in death by husbands, William E. Peters in 1973 and Harold Gardner in 2000; brothers, Elmer and Ralph Barron and sister Myrtle Niehenke. Survived by children, Earl H. Peters and wife Lois, Delaware, Barry R. Peters and wife Melanie, Bakersville, William E. Peters II and wife Kay, Shippensburg and Cathy Ann Queer and husband Hubert, Somerset; grandchildren: David, Daniel, Brett and Travis Peters, Amy Jo Nyswaner and Marcus Queer and eight great-grandchildren. Member of First United Methodist Church, where she joined April 1938 and was a lay leader and a member of the Missionary Association and the choir. Formerly employed as a seamstress at Somerset Shirt and Pajama. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Patricia Nelson officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
