    Joseph Millard Gardner, 86, Stoystown, died Dec. 9, 1996, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born April 15, 1910, in Hollsopple, son of Joseph and Maude
  (Shank) Gardner.  Preceded in death by parents; first wife, the former Anne
  Greenshields; son, Thomas, and infant sister.  Survived by wife of 29 years,
  the former Mary (Corbett) Stotler; son, Joseph, married to the former Faye
  Miller, Stoystown; daughter-in-law, Judy (Minick) Staul, Youngstown, Ohio;
  sister, Esther Wepsic, Reading; stepchildren: John Stotler, married to the
  former Patricia Howell, Stoystown; David Stotler, married to the former
  Ella Bambling, Central City; Ernest Stotler, married to the former Dorla
  Peden, Tucson, Ariz.; Dale Stotler, married to the former Patricia
  Waltermire, Maseru, Lesotho, Africa; Donald Stotler, married to the former
  Mary Hay, Berlin, and Mrs. David (Nancy) Dinning, Indian Lake; 20
  step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren.  Retired from Somerset
  County Assessment Office.  Former owner of Gardner Moving Company.  Member
  of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown.  Former member of Stoystown Borough
  Water Authority and Stoystown Lions Club.  Family will receive friends from
  2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing from
  10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church,
  Stoystown, Rev. Walter L. Startzel.  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery,
  Stoystown.  Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Lutheran Church,
  Stoystown, Pa.
