  GARDNER
  
  Lester H. Gardner, 77 of Somerset RD 2, died Jan. 11, in Somerset Community
  Hospital.  Born Feb. 4, 1898 in Jefferson Township, son of the late Walter
  Monroe and Annie Lowry (Stern) Gardner.  In addition to his parents he was
  preceded in death by a son, Ernest and a brother, Dwight.  Survived by his
  wife, the former Gertrude Beck and these children:  Mrs. Frank (Ethel)
  Stern, Hollsopple RD 2, Ray E. of Somerset RD 3, Earl of Somerset RD 6, 11
  grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lola Hileman of
  Catlettsburg, Ky.  Member Sipesville Church of the Brethren and a retired
  farmer and miner.  Friends are being received in the Richard E. Hauger
  Funeral Home where service will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.  Rev.
  Chauncey Ickes officiating.  Interment, Bakersville Cemetery.
