Gardner, 84, Somerset, passed on May 7, 2005, at home. Born Jan. 12, 1921, in Bakersville, the daughter of the late Roy and Carrie (Pyle) Baker. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold "Nocky" Gardner in 1977; sisters, Blanche Gardner and Sarah Brant and brothers, Harry, Earl, Wade and Henry Baker. Survived by her daughter, Sandra, married to Mitsuru Ideishi, Brentwood, Calif.; granddaughters, Susan, married to William Heffern, Los Alamitos, Calif., and Kelli Steele-Ideishi, Oakley, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Brendan and Hallie Heffern and Damon Croyle; step grandchildren: Susan England and Robert, Russell, Roger and Randy Ideishi; step great-grandchildren: Lani, Amber, Lindsey, Ryan, Alyssa, Erin, Jill, Kelia, Alex and Ariel and step great-great-granddaughter, Lyllia; 18 nieces and nephews and special friend Virginia Hemminger. Member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed collecting dolls and knitting and sewing. She was a longtime employee of Oakbrook Golf Course in Ferrellton and was active at the Somerset Senior Center. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Somerset Church of the Brethren. Rev. Mark Bendes officiating. There will be one hour visitation prior to the service. Private interment at Bakersville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to In Touch Hospice at 1590 N.
