  GARDNER
  
  Mary M. Gardner, 91, formerly of Rockwood and Pittsburgh, died July 17,
  1988, in the St. John's Lutheran Care Center, Mars.  Born May 17, 1897, in
  Somerset County, daughter of the late William J. and Rose (Reitz)
  McVicker.  Survived by two daughters:  Mrs. Doris Rapp, Scottsville, N.Y.;
  and Mrs. Rosemary Willkens, Washington, Pa.; also by two grandsons: David
  and Daniel Willkens; and 3 great-granddaughters.  Preceded in death by
  parents; husband, C. Steele Gardner, who died in 1950.  She was a retiree
  of the Department of Public Assistance.  Friends will be received in the
  William J. Wood Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m., where services will be
  conducted at 3 p.m. by her son-in-law, Dr. William H.R. Willkens. 
  Interment, Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Arrangements under the direction of
  the William J. Wood Funeral Home, with Francis Brady supervising.  Funeral
  services and burial were delayed until Tuesday for the convenience of the
  family.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in her memory to St.
  John's Lutheran Care Center, Mars, Pa. 16046.
