He was born July 16, 1922, in Somerset, a son of Mrs. Gertrude (Beck) Gardner of Sipesville and the late Chester H. Gardner. He is survived by his widow, the former Pauline Shaulis; and these children: Mrs. Karen Martin, Mt. Pleasant RD 6; Gary of Johnstown; Lester Lynn, Somerset RD 3; two grandchildren. He was a brother of Mrs. Frank (Ethel) Stern, Hollsopple RD 2, and Earl of Somerset RD 6. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ray, and a brother, Ernest. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall. Retired road foreman of Lincoln Township. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Robert Ferlin, speaker, officiating. Interment, Edie Cemetery. Daily American, March 13, 1982 [G0072]
