Garlitz, 90, formerly of Queen City Towers, who resided at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1987, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born March 31, 1897 in Pocahontas, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Anna M. (Loraditch) Baer. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a charter member of Court Theresa, Catholic Daughters of America, in Mount Savage, Md., where she formerly resided. She was a member of the Auxiliary of Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cumberland, Md. and the Sodality of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Savage, Md. Her husband was the late Jesse C. Garlitz. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include one son, Wilfred K. Garlitz, Medford, Ore.; two daughters, Virginia Mankamyer, RD 1, Cumberland, Md. and Marguerite Himmelwright, RD 9, Cumberland, Md., 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Friends were received in the Scarpelli Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment, SS. Philip and James Cemetery, Meyersdale.
