Garlitz, 82, of 2517 Lark Ave., died at 2:50 a.m. Monday, March 18, 1985, in Altoona Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born May 19, 1902, in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, the daughter of William A. and Amanda Ellen (Gray) James, and Sept. 25, 1923, in Meyersdale, married Walter E. Garlitz, who died May 29, 1981. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Drugg of Altoona; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Robert D., of Salisbury. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School pianist for many years. She was also a member of the Golden Workers Sunday School Class. She had been a volunteer for the Hollidaysburg State Hospital. Friends were received in the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Broad Avenue where services were held by Pastor Barbara J. Winey.
