   Hazel Garlitz, 88, Charleroi, formerly of Somerset, died Aug. 30, 2006, at Monongahela
  Hospital, Monongahela. Born Oct. 5, 1917, in Somerset, the daughter of Joseph and Naomi
  (Whitmore) Jones. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harold Edward Garlitz, who died
  Jan. 13, 1970; sons, Edward H. Garlitz Sr. and William R. Garlitz; brother Ephram Jones;
  infant brothers, Samuel, Fredrick and Andrew Jones; sisters, Grace Jones, Emma Warner,
  Hilda Kauton, Viola Densmore and Georgene Stanfield. Survived by grandchildren, Elizabeth
  Warnik, Kittanning; Edward Garlitz Jr., Sarver; Laura Garlitz, Conway, S.C.; Holly
  Garlitz-Brown, Seattle, Wash.; Gwen Dubas, Cheswick; and Jennifer Stile, Charleroi; and
  five great-grandchildren. Also survived by daughters-in-law, Emma Odessa Garlitz,
  Freeport, and Alexandra Garlitz, Charleroi. Hazel was a member of Somerset Church of the
  Brethren. She worked as a nurses aide for the former Somerset State Hospital. She was
  also a member of VFW Post 554 Ladies Auxiliary and Trinity Chapter of OES 138. Friends
  will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral
  Home, Somerset, where a service will be con-ducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Mark S.
  Bendes officiating. Interment, Sipesville Cemetery.
