Garlitz of Salisbury, Route 1, died at her home on Tuesday, May 27, at about 10:40 a.m. of carcinoma. Mrs. Garlitz had been ill for about two years, and had been confined to her bed for about 10 weeks prior to her passing. She was born in Elk Lick Township on April 12, 1921, daughter of Mrs. Bertha (Fuller) Trent and the late John Trent. In addition to her mother and her husband, she is survived by a young son, Kenneth Lee Garlitz; also by one sister, Mary, wife of Floyd Baer of Salisbury; and three brothers, Earl, Kenneth and John, all at home. Funeral services were conducted in the Thomas Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29th, Rev. Ira S. Monn, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church, to which she belonged, officiating. Interment in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, June 5, 1947
