Gary, 69, of Rockwood, died Feb. 11, 1986, Somerset Community Hospital. Born Feb. 20, 1916, in Upper Turkey Foot Township, a son of Jacob and Minnie (Miner) Gary. Survived by his wife, Dorothy (Colegrove) Gary of Rockwood; by one son, Elwood J. of Silver Springs, Md.; by one daughter, Mrs. Nez (Evanelle) Breegle of Rockwood; by four brothers: Norman of Markleton RD 1; Frank of Somerset RD 2; John of Markleton; and Paul of Rock wood; by four sisters: Mrs. Homer (Lillie) Brocht, and Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Kreger, both of Rockwood RD 3; Mrs. Charles (Katie) Mostoller of Somerset RD 2; and Mrs. Dwight (Edna) Tressler of Confluence RD 2; also by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. His death terminates a marriage union of 47 years. He was a member of the Somerset VFW and DAV of Meyersdale. He was a veteran of World War II serving in U.S. Army infantry division. He was a retired miner and member of the United Mine Workers of America. Friends will be received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, where services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ray Burnside officiating. Interment, Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
