Born Aug. 10, 1915 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah "Sadie" (Gary) Ansell. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ralph W. Gary, an infant son, sisters Annie Ansell and Kathern Moyers, and brothers Richard, Clarence, Wesley, Charles, Roy, Earl, and Frank Ansell. She is survived by her daughter Joan, married to James Platt of Scullton, sons Ross, married to Rita (Derencin) of Somerset and Randy, married to Debra (Hillegass) of New Paris, grandchildren Angela, Nicholas, Travis, Gary, Renee, Rebecca, Ryan, Eric, Shawn, Christina, and Jason, and great-grandchildren James (J.R.), Haylee, Samantha, Jenings, Victoria, Allison, Alecia, Nathan, and Jade. She was a former owner of the Laurel Hill Restaurant in New Lexington and a former owner of the Scullton General Store. She retired after 16 years as the cafeteria manager for the Rockwood Area School District. She was a member of the Scullton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Scullton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Rev. Boyd Race officiating. Interment at Scullton Cemetery.
