  GASHAW
  
  Mrs. Bessie M. Gashaw, 78, of W. Patriot St., Somerset, died Nov. 24, 1981,
  at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born April 7, 1903, in Lincoln Township,
  daughter of the late Charles F. and Ella (Smith) Darr.  Also preceded in
  death by husband, Edwin Gashaw; stepmother, Lucy (Shaffer) Darr; and these
  brothers and sister: Fred S. Darr, Clyde J. Darr and Mary Walker.  Survived
  by these sisters and one brother: Pauline Darr, Somerset; Mrs. Gladys
  Hoffman, Somerset RD 3; Mrs. Alpha (Erma) Smucker, Somerset; and Edward J.
  Darr, Somerset RD 2.  Member of Sipesville Church of the Brethren.  Friends
  will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the
  Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 10:30
  a.m. Friday, the Rev. Blair Harshbarger and the Rev. Donald Speigle
  officiating.  Interment, Sipesville Cemetery.
