Gaskin (Lottie E.), 96, of the Bethlen Home, Ligonier, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 1979, at the home. She was born April 13, 1883, in Somerset County, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Shaffer) Friedline. She was a member of the Covenant United Presbyterian Church, Ligonier. She was preceded in death by her husband, V. V. Gaskin (former owner of the V. V. Gaskin Funeral Home in Ligonier). Also preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy and Margaret Gaskin; and one son, Robert Gaskin. Survived by three daughters: Mrs. Mary Schrock of Somerset, Mrs. Herbert (Evelyn) Cunliffe of Latrobe and Mrs. Audie (Virginia) Erdmann of Ligonier; one son, William J. of Ligonier; one sister: Mrs. Ruth Palmer of Whitney, one brother, Garland of Derry; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. at Bell and East Church Sts., Ligonier, from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. John J. McClure officiating. Interment, Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Daily American, October 29, 1979 [G0182]
