She had been in ill health for the last four months, but was up and around all day Sunday and did not complain any on retiring Sunday evening. She was found dead in bed at 5 o'clock, Monday morning, by her daughter, Beatrice who had got up to get breakfast for her brother, Samuel, who is employed in Cumberland, Md. After being up about 20 minutes Beatrice returned up-stairs to find her mother just breathing her last breath. She was 59 years, 6 months and 16 days of age and is survived by the following children: Harvey E. Gaumer, Ellerslie, Md.; Samuel, at home; Mrs. Eugene Lowery, Bedford, Pa.; Mrs. Lloyd Sturtz, Wellersburg; Beatrice, at home, also by 13 grandchildren, three at home - Myrtle, Betty and Johnnie - also by two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Bingman, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. L. V. Moyer, Mars, Pa., and quite a host of relatives and friends. This is the third death in the family in less than eight months. The husband and father, Charles Gaumer, died May 11, 1930; a daughter, Ruth Gaumer, died Dec. 1, 1930, and Mrs. Gaumer, Jan. 5, 1931. Funeral services for Mrs. Gaumer were held at the home on Wednesday at 2 p.m., followed by burial in the Getz Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 8, 1931
