William Gaumer, aged 39 years, a track walker in the employ of the B. & O., was instantly killed while on duty Sunday near Fair Hope. He was struck by a locomotive running east on the west bound track. Gaumer was walking on the eastbound track, when a train approached running west on the eastbound track, causing Gaumer to step to the other track. The approach of trains going in opposite direction confused him and he was unable to step out of the way of the engine that struck him. He leaves a wife and five children. His parents reside in Boswell. Meyersdale Commercial, Nov. 19, 1914
