    Jerry M. Gavel, 33, of Fifth Street, Acosta, DOA Jan. 1, 1998 at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Sept. 1, 1964 in Somerset, a son of Stephen and Emma Gean
  (McGee) Gavel.  Survived by parents, Acosta; daughter, Emily; brothers
  Joseph, married to Denise Sellers, Acosta; and Jeffrey and fiance Cindy
  Cook, Brotherton; and maternal grandmother, Maude McGee, Acosta.  Member of
  All Saints Catholic Parish, Jenner Rod and Gun Club and Somerset County
  Old-Timers Association.  A 1982 graduate of North Star High School.
  Self-employed carpenter.  Friends received from noon until 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake service
  will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday.  Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday at
  All Saints Chapel, Acosta, the Rev. Father Blase Wegierski, O.F.M., Conv.,
  celebrant.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
