Geary, 18, of Bald Knob, Mt. Savage, Md., died Saturday, Jan 17, 1987, in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Saturday along Route 36 near Sunnyside. Born in Frostburg, Md., on Nov. 15, 1968, he was the son of Charles and Gloria (Bittner) Geary, with whom he resided. A freshman at Allegany Community College, he was formerly employed at McCrory's LaVale Plaza. A 1986 honor graduate of Mount Savage High School, where he was a member of the art club and an All-American Academic Scholar, he was the recipient of both McKaig and 4-H scholarships. A member of Mountain View 4-H Club, he attended Mount Savage United Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Pattysue Murphy, Waynesburg; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruth N. Geary, Bald Knob, and maternal grandparents, Raymond and Alberta Bittner, Meyersdale. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman. Services were conducted at Mount Savage United Methodist Church Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. John R. Scamehorn. Interment, church cemetery. Pallbearers were Joey Frankenberry, Ivan Murphy, Scott Saylor, Brian Geary, Greg Thompson and Eric Sweitzer. The Republic, January 22, 1987 [G0242]
