Geary, 99, Rockwood, passed on June 5, 2005, at The Patriot. Born June 10, 1905, in Milford Township, she is the daughter of the late John S. Ferner and Minnie (Miller) Ferner Pletcher. She is preceded in passing by her parents; stepfather, Jeremiah Pletcher; husband Jesse T. Geary in 1960; sisters, Anna Cramer and Laura Ellen Thomas and brothers, Paul and John Ferner and numerous stepbrothers and stepsisters. She was the last survivor of her generation. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruby Ferner, Rockwood, and many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was a charter member and part of the organizing group of the New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire Department and the Milford Grange. She was a longtime and well known participant in the preparation of banquets in the New Centerville area. She was a longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge in Kingwood and was a member of the election board of New Centerville Borough. She was a lifetime member and active participant of the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren and also served on the Middlecreek Cemetery Association. She was an avid quilter and loved to make afghans for family members. She was active in her community well into her 90s and touched hundreds of lives during her life. She developed an extended family and will be greatly missed by the residents and staff of The Patriot. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood. A service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Nancy Good officiating. Interment at the Middlecreek Cemetery.
