All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ MALINDA GEIGER Mrs. Malinda Geiger, aged 86 years, 10 months and 4 days, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Petenbrink in Sand Patch, R.D., on Wednesday, September 17, 1941. Mrs. Geiger, born on November 13, 1854, was the daughter of William and Lavina (Cook) Bittner, both of whom were born in Somerset County. Mrs. Geiger was one of the early settlers in this vicinity. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Susan Steinla of Avilton, Md.; Mrs. E. F. Petenbrink and Mrs. Louis Geiger of Scottdale; Mrs. John Merschbaker of Canton, Ohio, and Mrs. Harvey Petenbrink of Sand Patch; one son, William, of Moltrie, Ohio; twenty-one grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Jacob Geiger, died in May 1941. Two sons also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the White Oak Lutheran Church. Rev. S. D. Sigler, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price and Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, September 18, 1941
