He was born in Thurmont, Md., Jan. 3, 1867. His parents died when he was very young and he came to live with his uncle and aunt, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Miller, with whom he lived until he was married, July 4, 1888, to Isabel Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Geisbert celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary nine days before his death. Mr. Geisbert worked as a miner most of his life and in later years farmed. He helped his neighbor, William Martz, to bring in hay all day, Wednesday, before his death. Besides his wife he is survived by these sons and daughters: Leroy, Canton, O.; Lawrence, Acosta; Mrs. Lulu Lowery, Cumberland, Md.; Melvin, Meyersdale; and Mrs. Edna Christner, Johnstown. Also by 12 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. All of the children and their families were here for the funeral services. Funeral services were conducted at his home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. Nelson C. Brown, pastor of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church. Interment in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, mortician. Meyersdale Republican, July 20, 1944
