Born Dec. 4, 1914, in Schegnano, Italy. Son of the late John Battista and Antonietta, Gelpi. Preceded in death by parents and wife, the former Martha Beeman. Survived by children: Ernest, John, Richard and Bernice Barnett, all of Somerset; Michael, Listie, and Robert of Mesa, Ariz. Also 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset. Graduate of Somerset High School Class of 1932. He and his late father owned and operated Gelpi Masonry. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where wake service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Church, Msgr. Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery.
