    Martha M. Gelpi, 70, West Fairview St., Somerset, died April 19, 1989, at
  Mercy Nursing Care Center, Johnstown.  Born May 26, 1918, in Jennings, Md.,
  daughter of the late William and Laura (Bittinger) Beeman.  Preceded in
  death by brothers, Ray and William, and sisters, Carrie Burlingham, Rosie
  Foltz and Vernie Bowser.  Survived by husband of 53 years, Bernard; and six
  children: Ernest B., Somerset RD 2; John B., Richard E., and Bernice A.
  Barnett, all of Somerset; Robert W., Lake Havasu, Ariz.; and Michael A.,
  Friedens; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.  Brother of: Elmer
  Beeman, Berlin RD 4; Pete Beeman, Somerset RD 5; and Betty Huff,
  Somerset.  Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset.  Friends
  received 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Wilbur D. Miller
  Funeral Home, where wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday.  Mass of
  Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday with Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli
  officiating.  Interment, Husband Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be
  given to the Diabetes Foundation.
