Born Aug. 24, 1913 in Cove, Md., he was a son of the late Melchair Louisa (Smearman) George. He is survived by his wife, the former Wilma (Linkous) Smearman; three daughters: Mrs. Patricia Meyers, Addison; Mrs. Earlene May, Warren, Ohio; Miss Ludie B. George, Addison; one stepson, Garland C. Harris, Radford, Va.; 11 grandchildren, three brothers: Robert, Salisbury; Ray W. of Keyer Ridge, Md.; James E. Grantsville, Md.; two sisters: Mrs. Edith Butler, Swanton, Md.; Mrs. Lena McClintock, Keyer Ridge, Md. and 19 nieces and nephews. Friends received after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, until noon Saturday at which time he will be removed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Addison, where he will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m., the time of the service, with the Rev.
