George, 85, of Clearwater, Florida, died Wednesday, December 19, 1984 at Morton F. Plant Hospital. Born in South Fork, Pa., he came to Clearwater, Florida in 1966 from Detroit, Michigan and was retired Past President of Local 101 of the CIO- URW, Detroit, Michigan. He was also an international organizer for United Rubber Workers of Akron, Ohio, and an International Business Agent for the AFL-CIO, Detroit, Michigan. His membership include St. Cecelia's Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Loyal Order of the Moose -- all of Clearwater, Florida. He serviced his country during World War II with the Navy. He is survived by his wife, Leona O. George, of Clearwater, Florida; a son, Joseph Reich George, of Meyersdale, Pa.; one daughter, Mary G. Neilan, of Youngstown, Ohio; three brothers: James B. George, of Fenton, Michigan; Robert R. George and William F. George, both of Detroit, Michigan; three sisters: Mary M. Humprey, Catherine E. Murray and Clarabelle Waldeck, all of Clearwater, Florida. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. December 22, at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church of Clearwater, Florida. Moss Funeral Home of Largo, Florida was in charge of the arrangements.
