  Harold W. Gerhard Sr., 79, Rockwood RD 1, died Dec. 23, 1987, at his
  residence. Born July 9, 1908, in Hollsopple, son of the late David and Mary
  Ellen (Hyatt) Gerhard.  Preceded in death by parents, six sisters and a
  brother.  Survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Irene Cook; and the
  following children: Harold Jr., married to the former Linda Fritz of
  Rockwood; Mrs. Charles (Heather) Harah, Latrobe; Mrs. Robert (Karen) Morgan
  Jr. and Gregory, married to the former Gloria Smith, both of Rockwood RD 1;
  10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one
  sister, Mrs. Anna Bowlby, East Liverpool, Ohio.  Member of the United
  Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Johnstown local, Messiah
  Lutheran Church, New Centerville, New Centerville Rural and Volunteer Fire
  Department.  Milford Township constable for many years.  Friends will be
  received 7-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Wilbur D.
  Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in
  Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville, the Rev. Gregory Pile
  officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery in New Centerville.  Firemen's
  memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
  Saturday.  There will be no viewing at the church.
