SADIE GERHARDT

  Mrs. Sadie Gerhardt, widow of the late John W. Gerhardt, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 
at about 10 p.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eli Shockey, Dormont.  The 
body was brought here by W. C. Price and Son, to be prepared for burial.  Her 
age was 71 years, 6 months and 16 days, having been born July 21, 1872, the 
daughter of Jacob Younkin.  She is survived by nine children - Homer, 
Cumberland; William, Salisbury; Clyde and Paul, Meyersdale; Nelson in Merchant 
Marines, San Francisco; Mrs. Mary Hook, Charleroi; Mrs. Sara Beal, McKeesport; 
Mrs. Bertha Henry, Connellsville, and Mrs. Florence Shockey, Dormont.  Funeral 
services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Price Chapel, conducted by Rev. 
Thomas R. Thomas, pastor of the Methodist Church.  Interment was made in the 
Union Cemetery.
