Trackman Clyde Gerhart Clyde Gerhart, aged 55, an employee of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, died suddenly at 12:30 noon on Monday, Jan. 21, while at work. According to Herbert Fidler, track forman for the B. & O., who employed Gerhart, the two men were working together, loading rails about half a mile east of the Yoder coal tipple, when Gerhart, who had seemed in his usual spirits, stooped over to brush some snow that had accumulated on the rails, and suddenly collapsed to the ground. Fidler immediately started with the stricken man to a physician in Meyersdale, but he died on the way. D. C. T. Saylor, deputy county coroner, who investigated, pronounced death due to a heart attack. Gerhart, who was considered a good worker and well liked by his associates, is survived by his wife, Sadie (Mull) Gerhart, four sons, Roy A., serving with the U. S. Navy; John W., Garrett, William E., who was discharged from service this week; and Roy E., at home; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis Clites, Friedens; Anna M. and Ruth F., at home; and nine grandchildren. Four brothers and four sisters also survive: Paul, Meyersdale; Homer L., Cumberland; William, Salisbury; Jacob, San Francisco, Cal.; Mrs. Charles Beal, McKeesport; Mrs. Eli Shockey, Dormont; Mrs. Fred Hook, Charleroi, and Mrs. Brent Henry, Connellsville. Mr. Gerhart was born March 30, 1890, a son of John and Sadie (Younkin) Gerhart, both deceased, and at the time of his death was aged 55 years, 9 months and 21 days. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Price Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. S. C. Keiser. Interment was made in Union Cemetery, under the direction of W. C.
